Position Title: Partnership Development Officer/Senior Manager, CI China

SUMMARY

The Partnership Development Officer/Senior Manager, CI China provide strategic support to the conservation programs in terms of partnership engagement, strategic cooperation and project coordination. S/he is responsible for developing strategies, initiatives and activities to ensure that CI acquire solid policy, technical and financial support in China. The Partnership Development Officer/Senior Manager will work closely with other CI Divisions, Units and Offices, external partners and stakeholders especially government and private sector, and ensures compliance with CI policies, program and funding agreements and China’s requirements.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

STAKEHOLDER AND PARTNERSHIP ENGAGEMENT

  • Contributes to the development and refinement of Partnership Engagement Strategy, in close coordination and collaboration with other relevant CI Divisions, Units and Offices;

  • Leads the development of partnership engagement work plans, initiatives and activities, and ensures they are aligned with the Partnership Engagement Strategy, CI China Strategy and CI global strategies;

  • Effectively engages with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector, financial institutions and NGOs, technical experts and other strategic partners, with the support and coordination of relevant teams and offices within CI;

  • Supports key stakeholders to organize important domestic and international events, such as CBD COP15 and UNFCCC COP26;

  • Identifies and explores potential stakeholders and partners important to organization development and program success, with the support and coordination of relevant teams and offices within CI;

  • Participates in various internal and external meetings, workshops, conferences to represent CI China and boost CI's image;

  • Leads information sharing and cross collaboration, building stakeholder understanding and support through proactive communication efforts and related communication materials.

PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

  • Identifies and explores resources to support conservation programs and organization development;

  • Develops project proposals and contributes to regional and/or global project proposal through regularly partnering with other teams, units and offices of CI;

  • Establishes proposal pipelines for CI China, with the collaboration with other CI China team members and related units and offices of CI headquarters;

  • Well manages and effectively engages with partners through effective communication and high-quality deliverables;

  • Supports related team members to prepare technical and financial reports.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Manages the program's budget and finance;

  • Manages public or private funding, ensuring compliance with various requirements and CI policies;

  • Supervises team member/s and/or consultants if any, including overseeing the work of external partners;

  • Assists in the organizational tasks and processes of CI China and CI in general;

  • Conducts other related duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree and advanced degree preferred

  • At least 5 years related work experience in government, business sector and NGOs

  • Direct project management and Partnership Development experience, preferably in the conservation, NGO, advocacy, or related arena

  • Excellent technical and analytical skills

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • 2-3 years' experience supervising and motivating others including multi-disciplinary teams

  • Team player and able to work effectively with diverse works groups in a multicultural environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A record of success in influencing and partnering with key stakeholders

  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, set priorities, and deliver quality results

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and under minimal supervision.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequent travel to project site, other office locations and important events

  • Comfortable working out of doors for extended periods

  • Ability to work extended work hours to meet project deadlines
